The Honorable Nick J. Rahall, II
The purpose of this letter is to encourage your committee to approve H.R.3378: To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to designate the Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Birthplace and Childhood Home in Cresco, Iowa, as a National Historic Site and unit of the National Park System. Dr. Borlaug is unsurpassed as a
contributor in the fight against world hunger. Your support of this legislation can bring perpetuity to his home which deserves recognition for present and future generations.
Norman Borlaug is one of those few persons who has contributed more to this world than seems humanly possible. A man who abhorred hunger and left a legacy which helped feed and save more lives than perhaps anyone else in history.
I am especially dedicated to seeing this legislation enacted. Dr. Borlaug is a relative unknown rather than a headliner. His desire to help feed a hungry world was done in a quiet way. People world wide deserve a place to honor and learn about this man.
Thank you for your work and consideration on this legislation.
Sincerely,
