Endowment Fund
Fund Goal
​
The overall goal of the fund is to establish a large enough endowment that the foundation can operate long into the future. A large endowment will allow the foundation to hire staff to manage the property and give tours on a regular basis. A lage endowment will provide us with the funds to use the 1915 Birthplace Barn as a year-round visitor and education center. Finally, a substantial endowment will enable the expansion of our "Inspire Day" education program to more schools in Iowa and Minnesota and allow us to host more adult education workshops.
All this takes a sizeable sum of money. We believe that Norm's legacy and values need to be promoted to more people through a much greater outreach than we are able to do as a strictly volunteer organization. We believe there are many Iowans and others around the world who believe this, as well. By contributing to the Norman Borlaug Heritage Foundation Endowment Fund, you can help us reach these goals and keep Norm's legacy alive.
Your Gift Will Keep on Giving
Because the Norman Borlaug Heritage Foundation Endowment Fund is a permanent fund with the Community Foundation, the donated dollars are invested, and only the income from the fund is granted out. Added Tax Benefits of Giving
This fund is eligible for the Endow Iowa 25% state tax credit. Gifts to permanent endowment funds of the Community Foundation that benefit Iowa charitable causes are eligible to receive a 25% state tax credit through the Endow Iowa program.
